The sibling squabble between Wendy Williams and her brother Tommy Williams seems to be far from over. On Jan. 19, the TV host spilled the beans on what she claims were her brother’s actions at their mother’s funeral last month, which he accused her of not attending in a video he posted over the weekend.
On Tuesday, the media mogul addressed her brother for the second time on “The Wendy Williams Show” after he released another statement saying Wendy did not attend the funeral for their 85-year-old mother, Shirley Williams, who passed on Nov. 29.
On her “Hot Topics” segment she said, “Tommy, you know I was at mommy’s service and you know she looked beautiful in her casket. And you know that you fist fought a loving member of our family … half your age.” She continued, “You started a fight over an open casket right there with my mother, thank God we were at a civilized funeral home, and the men of the funeral home blocked so mommy wouldn’t fall out and there’d be a catastrophe. You should know better at 53.”
Wendy also claimed it was her ex-husband Kevin Hunter Sr. that broke up the fight between her brother and their family member and said she and her ex reconciled because of it.
She said that she asked her son would he approve if he, her, and her ex-husband “found it in our hearts not to forgive, but to move on in the name of the service. And, my son said ‘yeah’ and that’s why we went out to eat afterwards — the three of us. We go to a random place that had food that all three of us liked to eat and then he dropped us off in the double R at my sister’s house,” and told them to call if they needed anything.
Wendy ended it tearfully by saying “And that is all I’m going to say about that situation.”
The brother-sister feud began on Saturday, Jan. 16, when Tommy uploaded a 30-minute video on YouTube claiming Wendy did not attend the funeral.
He said, “I don’t understand not giving a salute to the one person who was always there and showed you support. I don’t understand how a person cannot go to a funeral and hold up the one person or the family member that you do have, the parent that you do have left, and just move on.”
On Monday, Jan. 18, Wendy warned her brother to “stop talking.” She added, “You don’t want me to start pegging you to be the person that you are, with full-blown receipts. I could fill the audience with receipts.”
Tommy, evidently, did not heed Wendy’s warning and made another 6 minute-video on Tuesday claiming that their father is “hurt” that even though she was in town, she allegedly opted to have lunch with her ex-husband and her son instead of attending the funeral. Tommy claims that Wendy originally told their father that she would only be in town for their mother’s viewing but could not make it to the funeral because she had to handle some business in New York.
