Reginae Carter updated fans on her on-again, off-again, on-again boyfriend rapper YFN Lucci, who was recently arrested for his alleged connection with a fatal shooting in Atlanta, however, they were too busy being disappointed in her to care.
Lucci, 29, whose real name is Rayshawn Bennett, turned himself into Atlanta Police on Jan. 13 after a warrant named him as the driver “behind the wheel of the car used in a gang-related drive-by” that left 28-year-old James Adams dead, according to reports from The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
On Jan. 15, Carter spoke out about Lucci for the first time in her Instagram Stories and shocked followers when she revealed that she’s down to ride the investigation wave out by his side in 2021 Bonnie-and-Clyde style.
“Hey Guys! Ray wants you all to know he’s in good spirits and doing well,” she shared in her update about her man. “Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes…He’ll be home soon😘”
Fans were disappointed to see that Reginae has decided not to distance herself from the embattled rapper and confused by her confidence that he’ll be released anytime soon.

The 22-year-old daughter of reality star Toya Johnson and rapper Lil Wayne has been an open book about the rocky relationship journey she and the “Heartless” rapper have shared since 2018. The two split in 2019 after Lucci attended the now-infamous “cucumber party.” Following the breakup, Carter swore off dating rappers for good, telling family friend and fellow reality TV star Shekinah Anderson, “I would never date a rapper again. I already learned my lesson” during an Instagram Live chat.
After sticking to her guns for one year, Reginae confirmed that the two reconciled in November 2020.
