Tia Mowry is trying out a new look, and fans are absolutely loving it.
She uploaded a selfie to Instagram on Thursday, Jan. 14, rocking red lipstick and winged eyeliner, but her sleek fishtail braid hairstyle is what really captured fans’ attention.
While she was looking to inspire fans with a quote she shared, fans instead seemingly were taken aback by Mowry’s appearance. Her caption, quoting Brazilian lyricist and novelist Paulo Coelho, read: “Whenever you want to achieve something, keep your eyes open, concentrate and make sure you know exactly what it is you want. No one can hit their target with their eyes closed.”
One person said that she resembled R&B singer Sade, who is known for wearing the braided ponytail hairdo.
Another fan wrote, “I❤️❤️ your hair you are a gorgeous talented lady.”
Fan compliments on her overall look included “You are stunning,” “Gorgeous,” “Beautiful” and “You are so pretty.”
Someone else pointed out how inspired she was by Mowry not hiding her gray hairs. She wrote, “You make me want to embrace my gray hairs! You look beautiful!
Any fan of the 42-year-old actress knows that she is not afraid to switch up her hairstyles. In fact, last year, on Jan. 31, she revealed her big chop on Instagram. That was the second time Mowry had cut her hair short, but the only difference was she kept her natural curls. The chop was symbolic of a rebirth for Mowry going into 2020, and she also said “it was time.”
“It’s part of a new year, new me — mentally and physically,” she added.
Mowry debuted her first big chop in 2012, but at that time, she had not transitioned to natural hair and instead rocked a pressed pixie cut. But in 2014, when the natural hair movement was really beginning to reach its peak, Mowry decided to embrace her own natural curls.
Thinking back, she said, “I felt like, ‘if this is what God gave me, I am gonna roll with it.’ “
