“Real Housewives of Potomac” star Karen Huger savagely read her co-stars Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon on Nov. 19, during her virtual appearance on “The Wendy Williams Show.”
The 57-year-old first threw shots at Gizelle by minimizing her business skills and bringing up her allegedly discontinued makeup brand EveryHue Beauty, which initially launched back in 2017. “If Gizelle needs some help in understanding why or how to call a brand, tell her to call my people. You don’t have a makeup line and have it disappear without saying goodbye to your customers who’ve supported you. EveryHue is no longer available to any customer. It was liquidated.”
Karen clapped back at Robyn’s ageist remarks on the Nov. 15 episode of “RHOP” when the subject changed to her co-star’s Embellished hat line photo shoot, which included all of the remaining cast members as models. She said, “They don’t understand because they don’t have the wisdom that we mature women have. Now, Robyn is a hard 40, and lookin’ every day of it.”
She also added that Robyn missed out on making a profit within the older community. “I really believe she shot herself in the foot with this, because we 50-year-olds can afford her product.”
On the Nov. 15 episode, Robyn told Gizelle during their trip to Portugal that she didn’t want to use Karen’s photos on the website. The 41-year-old further explained that she wanted a more “youthful” look for the company, to which Gizelle agreed.
According to Urban Belle, many people came to Karen’s defense the following day, including Wendy herself. The talk show host addressed the duo during her “Hot Topics” segment.
“The shade of it all,” Williams began. “So, Karen is 57, and Karen looks great. Karen … she’s really modeling like a model. She’s showing your hat right over there. Like, I’m mad at Robyn for this ageism. She’s showing your hat, she’s got good hair, she’s got on a nice piece. And a little sliver of cleavage like everything people wants to see on your website to sell these hats. And then look here, I’ve seen more double chins on you younger housewives than I see on the Grande Dame. And if you didn’t like how Karen looked in it, you could have airbrushed her picture ever so slightly and not said a word about it. Karen is as cute, if not cuter. That’s all.”
Toward the end of her public roast session, Karen made it clear that ageism against women needs to stop. “It is time to stop age-shaming women, especially women doing it to women.” Despite being axed from the hat ads, the “RHOP” star encouraged the viewers to support Robyn’s business.
