Quavo is clearing his name after a person asked him about allegedly sleeping with Reginae Carter.
During the legendary Verzuz battle on Nov. 19 between rappers Young Jeezy and Gucci Mane, celebrities and fans alike were writing thousands of comments expressing their excitement about the highly anticipated battle. However, some of the comments shared among viewers were not about the battle at all and were actually quite messy.
Kansas City social media personality and stand-up comedian Gerald Huston was one of those people that was trolling celebrities like Gabrielle Union, Ja Rule, and Takeoff of rap group Migos. But what really caught people by surprise was his comment directed to another Migos member, Quavo.
He wrote, “@quavohuncho u still f-cking colormenae?”
Social media users went crazy after seeing the comment and took to Twitter to get some answers.
Quavo saw all the commotion that was happening on Twitter and decided to address the rumor.
He tweeted, “Internet Crazy Man 😭 Not Weezy Daughter No! ❄️🤞🏾.”
Quavo’s usage of emojis could be his way of saying he is going strong with his “Icy Girl” Saweetie, who is a female rapper he has been dating for about three years now.
His response to not having any relations with Reginae seems to be related to his respect for her father, rapper Lil Wayne. The 29-year-old has mentioned a few times in the past how Weezy has been an influence to him.
Back in May, the “Workin Me” rapper joined Lil Wayne on Apple Music’s Young Money Radio, where Quavo said his inspiration to go back and get his diploma was Weezy.
Two years ago, Quavo, along with several other rappers, came together to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the iconic “Tha Carter 3” album. They each paid homage by using their baby picture in place of Wayne’s on the front of the album and described how they felt about the project when they heard it.
Quavo wrote, “‘Lil Wayne is a hell of an artist. Him and Hot Boys inspired me in many ways. Hot Boys influenced us to be a group.’ – @quavohuncho #ThaCarterIIIAnniversary”
As for Reginae, she addressed the rumor on Twitter a day later.
She tweeted, “Guys .. let’s not run with a story that was made in a VS comment area by someone I don’t even know … it’s really sick how miserable people can be. very much fake news.”
She, like Quavo, is focused on her own love life. Earlier this month, she spoke with TV host Wendy Williams, when she revealed that she is attempting to rekindle her relationship with her ex-boyfriend rapper YFN Lucci.
She stated she was currently only focused on herself and her “relationship with YFN Lucci.”
