‘She Served Nothing’: Fans Are Going In on Monica’s Little Black Dress Challenge

Monica‘s new little black dress challenge on Wednesday night had the 40-year-old’s fans throwing shade at the R&B crooner after she tried pairing a variety of coats and hats to her black ensemble.

In the Nov. 4 clip shared on Instagram — originally posted on Monica’s TikTok account — the singer is seen jamming to Moneybagg Yo’s “Said Sum (Remix),” featuring City Girls and DaBaby, as she tries on her first look, a leopard print jacket with matching bucket hat. For the second outfit, Monica dropped it low as she flaunted her multi-colored gear of camouflage, tiger stripes, and checked boxes. The songwriter finished it off with a black ball cap. In her final piece, Monica kept it simple with a black trench coat while coquettishly posing with one hand on her hip. The whole ensemble was capped with her floral Gucci bag and her suede black ball cap. The reels clip was captioned “Little black dress,” but it was a little black miss as many fans began dogpiling insults on the reality star’s effort to create numerous styles.

“She served nothing.”

“Can’t even see the fits fr.”

“That’s a ‘long black dress’ not a Little Black Dress😂.”

“She off beat 🤣🤣.”

“I didn’t really see much of a difference lol 😂.”

Monica’s followers already had a bit of experience at calling her out over participating in a challenge. In October the mother of three uploaded a video of herself doing the red cup challenge — a challenge where someone has to balance a red plastic cup on their head and move from a sitting position to reclining and maneuver the cup onto the floor with their legs — in her living room. As the songstress tried balancing the cup on her forehead, fans thought they saw her eyes begin to bulge and her arms quivering as she made her way onto her back. She balanced the cup until she completed the challenge.

The “Angel Of Mine” singer captioned the Oct. 13 post, which racked up over 134,000 likes, “I thought a 20-year-old said sum. It’s almost my birthday #Big40 All I can tell you is do what’s best for YOU throughout YOUR journey! Your gifts will make room for you always!!! PS Auntie was a gymnast lmaooooo #RedCupChallenge.”

The challenge originally started back in July 2020 and was created by TikTocker Jenna Frumes.
