Tiffany Haddish paid homage to one of her favorite bands while also showing off her slimmed-down figure by dressing up as the album cover model from the Ohio Players’ “Pain.”
The 40-year-old comedian recreated the band’s dominatrix-inspired second studio album cover for Halloween, wearing a black studded bikini, matching studded cuffs, a chain-link waistband, and whip in hand. Haddish’s inspiration for the costume came from a mixture of her time spent in Yellow Springs and Dayton, Ohio, as well as wanting to show off her fitness progress.
“Happy Halloween. Hanging out in Yellow Springs and Dayton OH this past Summer inspired me at #ChappelleCamp I Love the music of the Ohio Players,” she wrote in an Oct. 30 Instagram post, referring to Dave Chappelle‘s socially-distanced summer camp festival. “I also would Love to be #Nubia from #wonderwomancomics Also this is my Chance to show off my hard work so far. The actress revealed three months ago that she’s lost 20 pounds while dating her current boo, singer Common, but made it clear that the weight loss is a result of her growing confidence and not her relationship.
“I’ve lost 20 pounds since I’ve been in this relationship,” Haddish said on the July 30 episode of the “Steve-O’s Wild Ride” podcast. “I feel more confident in me, and it’s not him that’s doing it … it’s like, way happier and it’s like knowing I got somebody that cares about me, that really has my back. It seems like he does anyways. And I love it. I love him.”
Haddish’s throwback costume and body transformation were both hits on the ‘Gram, and fans dropped over 156,700 likes on the image.

After months of speculation, Haddish confirmed this past summer that she and Common are indeed an item. The “Girls Trip” star has since admitted that it is “hands down the best relationship I’ve ever been in.”
