Bill Burr’s ‘SNL’ Monologue Criticizes White Women’s Involvement In the ‘Woke Movement’: ‘You Rolled Around In the Blood Money’

Comedian Bill Burr caused a bit of a commotion after delivering his “Saturday Night Live” monologue on Saturday, Oct. 10. The actor addressed several delicate matters, including cancel culture and Pride Month. However, perhaps it was the 52-year-old Burr’s hot take on how white women have “hijacked the woke movement” that had viewers split.

Burr opened up the second episode of the sketch show’s 46th season, targeting people who refused to obey mask-wearing guidelines during the coronavirus pandemic that has already left more than 200,000 people in the United States dead, with the numbers still growing.” If you’re that dumb and you want to kill your own family members, then do it. It stops you from producing,” the comedian told viewers.

Shortly after, Burr turned his attention toward white women and the “woke movement,” which he described as “people of color not getting opportunities … that they deserve, and it was about that for about eight seconds.” What came next, no one saw coming, not even white women. “Somehow, white women swung their Gucci-booted feet over the fence of oppression and stuck themselves at the front of the line,” Burr said. “I don’t know how they did it. I’ve never heard so much complaining in my life from white women.” He turned directly to the camera and said, “Where’s the camera? The nerve of you white women.”

The “King of Staten Island” star then took audiences on an imaginary trip through history to defend his argument. “You guys stood by us toxic white males through centuries of our crimes against humanity. You rolled around in the blood money, and occasionally, when you wanted to sneak off and hook up with a Black dude, if you got caught, you said it wasn’t consensual.” He added, “Yeah, that’s what you did! …. So, why don’t you shut up, sit down next to me, and take your talking to.”

Many fans online praised Burr for saying what was not dared said out loud, including one Twitter user who commented underneath a clip of Burr’s speech. “I know this guy kill it because EVERYONE is offended. The conservatives are in the comments mad, the liberals are mad. Every comment is angry. Can the non-sensitive people all just get together and start our own country.” The post received over 2,700 likes.

Others commended the comedian for telling “the truth.” “Me seeing all these white women mad at Bill Burr for speaking the truth on snl,” another user wrote alongside a video of Michael Jordan laughing at what appeared to be something he saw on his tablet.

“Shout out to Bill Burr for telling the truth about white feminism. Because nobody listened to all the Black people saying this for decade,” a third person tweeted.

While Burr received an overwhelming amount of support, some, especially white women were not in line with his explosive take on white women’s compliance with “toxic white male behavior.”

“It’s not that he doesn’t have a point about white women. Just feels gross to hear a straight white cis male lecturing as if he’s above it all. I’ve heard black women take white women on and it’s funnier and truer and better in every way. And without misogyny,” a second user commented.
