Garcelle Beauvais Tells Nene Leakes to Join ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Following Her Departure From the Atlanta Franchise

On Thursday, Sept. 17, Nene Leaks finally put the speculations and rumors surrounding her return to “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” to rest. In a clip uploaded to her YouTube channel, the former reality star said that after many failed contract negotiations she made the difficult decision to exit the franchise.

News of the 52-year-old’s departure made its way around the internet,  garnering reactions from fans and peers alike. The actress even got an offer from a franchise sister. Later that evening, after the news broke, “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Garcelle Beauvais tweeted Nene, telling her to join her on the Beverly Hills version of the show.

“@NeNeLeakes come help a sista out #RHOBH,” the actress tweeted alongside a repost of an article from People magazine reporting Nene’s exit. Garcelle’s post received 3,000 likes and 390 retweets from fans who had mixed feelings about Nene joining the Beverly Hills cast.

One Twitter user responded to the post, “Um…NO! Love you on the show this year and hope you stay, but this #rhobh is ONLY for women with class!” They added, “I can think of plenty of better choices.” While another person tweeted, “OMG Nene and Garcelle would eat Kyle ALIVE and…” and attached a funny GIF of Mo’Nique saying, “I would like to see it.” The response garnered 156 likes.

A third person wrote, “Nene destroying Rinna would be the cultural reset we deserve. We DESERVE.” Another fan quickly chimed in, saying, “Only if she destroys Kyle and teddy along the way.”

Many fans believe the show wouldn’t be ready for a big personality like Nene but were still open to the idea.

Nene had been a part of the “Housewives” franchise since its debut in 2008, something she admitted she couldn’t believe took off. “I started on the Real Housewives of Atlanta in 2008. We took off like a rocket. I mean we took off. You could’ve never told me that I would star in this little show and it’ll still be going strong 13, 14 years later. And it is.” The former reality star promised this wasn’t the end but only a new beginning.

Nene has yet to respond to Garcelle’s invitation.
