Love and Hip Hop: Hollywood” star Moniece Slaughter is sharpening up her vocal skills with a little help from a noteworthy friend. On Sunday, Aug. 23, the reality star shared a video on her Instagram page that revealed her singing coach as none other than Brandy “The Vocal Bible” Norwood.

In the nearly 13-minute clip, which initially was an Instagram Live, Brandy could be heard effortlessly singing riffs and runs. When asked if she would like to sing something as well, Slaughter replied, “No, I would like to study.”

The unidentified person behind the camera revealed that the reality star had been studying Brandy’s music for years and that the two were going over some of the vocal tricks the “Moesha” star demonstrated on a recent track titled “Borderline,” off her latest project “7.”

Fans loved every minute of it as they rushed to the comments sections expressing their excitement and joy over the jam session.

One fan commented, “Omg so amazing!! Brandy is amazing and you really sound great and amazing too moniece!!❤️.” Another wrote, @moniece_slaughter I might be wrong about @brandy but this was first of all so beautiful to watch I believe that this is my first time seeing Brandy so just comfortable and let her know she is beautiful natural she didn’t need any makeup.” The fan added, “I mean she’s just gorgeous the both of you and you sounded just as beautiful as she did you guys should do some work together so proud of you love the both of you.”

In July 2020, Slaughter shocked fans when she revealed that she still receives residual checks for singing the theme song for the CW reality show “America’s Next Top Model.” The star shared the news by posting an Instagram screenshot of a supposed residual check. “More America’s Next Top Model Money,” Slaughter wrote. “‘YOU WANNA BE ON TOP’ My dad is better than yours. My dad got me the gig to sing the theme song for the show fresh outta high school and it still pays the bills thank you daddy.”

Slaughter is the stepdaughter of singer Dave Thomas of gospel group Take6. Slaughter told VH1 in November 2018 that Thomas helped her with her music career and to land the opportunity on “ANTM,” which was hosted by supermodel Tyra Banks from 2003 to April 2018.
