Mike Hill went under the needle to get a fresh tattoo just days before his 50th birthday. The Fox Sports broadcaster debuted his new ink in a Tuesday, Aug. 18, Instagram post, where he also explained that he wasn’t going through a midlife crisis.
Mike posted a photo that showed part of his arm covered in a tattoo of a lion wearing a crown that read “King.” The reality star from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” donned a white tank top, making his detailed ink the center of attention. Celebrity tattoo artist CJ McCaskill tackled the project in Atlanta and implied in a similar Instagram post that the session went great. Mike showed his appreciation to the artist after explaining why he went under the needle in the first place.
“Days before my 50th, I Got some new ink!! #LEOSeason,” Mike began his caption. “Someone asked me if I was having a midlife crisis & should they be worried. I laughed and told her, I’m having a “new life happiness & so you should be happy for me”. Always believe you’re royalty & LIVE that way.”
Mike’s photo received over 12,000 likes and some 600 comments from people complimenting his new ink. His fiancée, Cynthia Bailey, gushed underneath the image, “King of my jungle🦁,” while somebody else said, “50 is the new 30!🤗🤗🤗.” Another person wrote, “Nice ink, Fire sign! 🦁,” followed by somebody else who commented, “Yoooooooo THISSSSS IS🔥🔥🔥🔥.”
Mike turned 50 on Wednesday, Aug. 18, and celebrated his milestone year with Cynthia at the supermodel’s lakefront home in suburban Atlanta, known as Lake Bailey. The 53-year-old reality star wrote a sweet tribute to her man to mark the occasion. “Happy 50th Birthday to the love of my life @itsmikehill. May your next years be your best years. I love you🎉,” she said.
Cynthia and Mike set their wedding date for Oct. 10 of this year. Mike works and lives in Los Angeles, while the mother of one lives in between Atlanta and the City of Angels. It’s unclear if Cynthia will move to California, considering she’s currently filming season 13 of “RHOA.”
Cynthia hinted in a March after show segment with her former co-star Eva Marcille that the couple had not yet decided their living arrangements. “Right now, we are still working it out, just being in a bicoastal relationship,” she said. “Mike has a new show, which is a talk show about black excellence, African-American issues, the culture. So he’s spending more time than ever in L.A.”
