Tami Roman Feels That Tahiry Jose Should ‘Take Accountability’ for Her Fight with Ex-Boyfriend Vado

Tami Roman is offering her opinion about Tahiry Jose and her ex-boyfriend Vado‘s domestic violence situation. On the Thursday, July 30, episode of We tv’s “Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition,” Tahiry tossed two apples at Vado’s head and told him to “make apple sauce” after the two got into a heated discussion. A clip resurfaced online prior to the episode that showed Vado grabbing her shirt. At the time, viewers had no knowledge that Tahiry assaulted him first.

The former “Basketball Wives” reality star and her husband Reggie Youngblood weighed in on the altercation on the Wednesday, Aug. 5, episode of her podcast “Bonnet Chronicles.” During the conversation, Tami suggested that Tahiry was also to blame for the incident. “Don’t think that I am condoning domestic violence, because I am not. I am a survivor of DV, OK. But I also feel like people need to take accountability in those situations,” Tami said at the 1:42 mark.

“If you are a female that puts your hands on a man first, you cannot count on the fact that he has been raised to not hit your ass back. And if he does hit you back, God fordbid, to me I feel like that’s a fight. You just fighting at that point.”

She then went on to insinuate that she believed Tahiry was picking a fight and hinted that the former “Love and Hip Hop: New York” reality star should be held accountable. “And please, I’m sorry, because I don’t want this taken the wrong way. That does not constitute a domestic violence situation to me,” she added. “If you are the instigator, aggressor, initiator of physical contact as a female in a relationship and you run up on somebody who ain’t been taught or who doesn’t live by the thought process that men should not hit women and they hit your ass back, you gotta take accountability for the fight that you are in and you just got the short end of the stick.”

“Now true domestic violence survivors I understand who you are. I understand what you represent. I understand the destructive environment that you are in and I send prayers up for you. I’m talking about if you initiate some sh-t, you gon’ get what you get and that’s unfortunate, but you have to take accountability in it,” she stressed.

Vado explained to the show host Dr. Ish that he was defending himself after Tahiry threw apples at his face. The network still made the executive decision to kick Vado out of the house, explaining the other cast members can’t continue to do emotional work in an unsafe environment.
