“Love & Hip Hop: New York” television personality Safaree Samuels picks up on some of his wife Erica Mena’s culture in a new Instagram video that has garnered over 200,000 views.
“I’ve been digging into my Spanish roots via my wife,” Samuels wrote for the caption.
The 39-year-old was recorded speaking Spanish to a man who appeared to be Hispanic, and while it isn’t clear what the rapper was trying to say, the words “televisión” and “dos,” stood out in his conversation.
The man in the video responded to the New York native’s statements and questions and seemed engaged in what the father of one was saying to him.
“Who knows what I’m telling him??? I’m on the way… I wonder if I should start hosting Telemundo y’all shows 🤔🤔,” Samuels concluded for his caption that left fans cracking up in the comments section over his attempt to speak Spanish.
Some fans also speculated about what Samuels was trying to say.
“Cuanto abrigo? I guess you asked ur translator how many coats for pure white 😂. How many times you changed Pedros name?”

The “Love & Hip Hop” reality star’s fans also pointed out that Samuels wore graphic shorts with the late singer Selena Quintanilla-Pérez’s printed face on them.
Samuels and Mena welcomed their first child together, a baby girl, on Feb. 3. However, the couple has yet to reveal their daughter’s name, and people don’t even know what baby Samuels looks like.
Mena has been teasing fans with pictures of her holding her daughter, but she won’t show her face. On July 23, she and the 5-month-old rocked cute matching mommy-and-daughter outfits, wearing black tops and polka dot pants.
“Safaree’s Baby Motha 😜 ,” Mena captioned the photo, although she and Safaree are in fact married.
Of course, fans went into a frenzy over Mena again not showing her and Samuels’ child.
On Feb. 25, the reality diva and Instagram influencer tweeted, “Maybe one day but honestly don’t wait on it. Showing her isn’t part of our plan at all.”
For those curious about who baby Samuels favors more, Mena noted on June 12, that baby Samuels is the “perfect mix of her daddy and I.”
