“Baskeball Wives” reality star CeCe Gutierrez and former Los Angeles Lakers head coach Byron Scott tied the knot over the weekend. The 47-year-old nurse and three-time NBA champion got married on Saturday, July 11 in an intimate setting, which was shared on CeCe’s Instagram Live stream for friends and family to watch amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The mother of one shared beautiful photos from their lavish ceremony on Instagram. In one striking image of the happy couple, CeCe gave a special shout out to her mother Edith Gutierrez and her brother Jay for singing at her wedding. She explained that her mother sang her bridal song “Ave Maria,” while her brother sang their second wedding song tilted “Rise Up.”
While CeCe’s family showed up to the wedding service, Byron Scott’s son Thomas Scott and his wife Kristen Scott seemed to be absent from the event. Kristen, also a cast member on “BBW,” posted an image on Instagram one day after the ceremony that showed her hanging out with her friend Ashley Lewis. The VH1 reality star did not share any photos from the wedding, causing fans to believe that Kristen, her husband and their daughter Kenzi Scott were not invited to the gorgeous ceremony.
One user asked: “Did y’all go to the wedding 👀👀?” Someone else commented underneath the image: “How was the wedding? Oop you weren’t invited🙃.”
CeCe and Kristen fell out with each other during season seven when Kristen accused her father-in-law Byron of being a bad grandfather and claimed CeCe was the reason behind Byron’s estranged relationship with his son Thomas.
CeCe added fuel to the fire in season eight when she told their co-star Ogom “OG” Chijindu that Thomas was not Byron’s biological son. “OG” and Kristen got into a heated altercation during the season, and “OG” used Byron’s relationship with Thomas as a dig to Kristen during the verbal dispute.
Kristen’s nemesis “OG” attended the gorgeous wedding ceremony, while Cece has yet to mend her relationship with Kristen.
