Amanda Seales is done at “The Real.” The 38-year-old comedian revealed in an Instagram Live chat on Tuesday, June 2 that she was not returning to the daytime talk show after a six-month stint. Seales shared that her contract was up, and she decided not to renew it.
The “Insecure” star said, “It doesn’t feel good to my soul to be at a place where I cannot speak to my people the way they need to be spoken to. And where the people that are speaking to me in despairing ways are not being handled.” Rumors swirled that the reason behind her departure actually stemmed from her feud with her co-host Loni Love. At the time of Seales’ announcement, she allegedly did not follow Love on social media.
On Wednesday, June 3, Seales went on Instagram Live to address the rumor that she and Love were no longer friends. “Do not try to create some false dissension between me and the co-hosts of “The Real,” she said. “Ya’ll so f-cking corny! There is a whole pandemic and an uprising going on and you still can’t find sh-t else to do but try and create some conflict that doesn’t exist. I did not unfollow… unfollow Loni Love. I haven’t unfollowed anybody,” she stressed.
“Shout out to Jeannie [Jeannie Mai], shout out to Tams [Tamera Mowry-Housley], shout out to Loni Love, and shout out to Adrienne [Adrienne Bailon-Houghton]. What ya’ll don’t understand is grown.. grown women do grown women business. That’s what ya’ll don’t understand. And what I do with my business ain’t got nothing to do with them sistas. Ya’ll need to have a good day and get your mind’s focused on what we need to do to make it a good week,” she concluded.
Love reacted to Seales’ message shortly after her spill. She wrote on Instagram, “You make me laugh, you make me think, you make me be a better woman… thank you @amandaseales..”
Love’s post received over 200,000 views and some 1,000 comments from people applauding the Inglewood native for clearing the air about her friendship with Love.

Seales became the fifth co-host of “The Real” in season six. She replaced Tamar Braxton, who was fired from the talk show after season two.
