TikTok Star Tabitha Brown Lands Major Agency Deal, Thanks to Popular Vegan Recipe Videos

Actress Tabitha Brown‘s vegan recipe videos have been a fun new source of feel-good entertainment that’s come out of the current social distancing regime, and her quick rise in popularity is already beginning to pay off.

The “Black Jesus” actress’s TikTok channel has been creating a lot of internet buzz thanks to Brown’s quick and simple vegan recipe videos that she adds color to with animated voice-overs. Gaining over 2 million followers on the platform drew the attention of major Hollywood talent agency CAA, which has signed her to a new deal with the company, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Brown, who is also a video blogger and food ambassador for Whole Foods and a champion of the vegan lifestyle, has shared recipes for carrot bacon, smoothie bowls, veggie quesadillas and more, adding a little bit of Southern charm to them (she hails from Eden, North Carolina) and capturing her fans’ attention. She’s even gained some famous followers along the way, like Keke Palmer, who sang Brown’s praises when she joined Palmer during a segment of “Strahan, Sarah, and Keke.”

During a recent interview with Buzzfeed, Brown told the website that she was inspired to make the change to veganism in 2016 after watching the documentary “What the Health” and having her eyes opened to what she was putting into her body. “For me that was kind of like the light bulb,” she said, taking into account her family’s health issues, including the chronic pain she’d been experiencing. “For me in that moment, meat was the common denominator.”

After about 10 days of the 30-day vegan challenge she and her husband, Chance, were completing together, Brown noticed her chronic headaches and pains began to diminish. At day 30, she was convinced that this was the lifestyle for her and hasn’t thought about going back since.
