‘Tell Them The Truth’: Toni Braxton Addresses Rumors That She Dated Dennis Rodman

A new documentary about Michael Jordans time with the Chicago Bulls has attracted sports fans and non fans alike. The 10-part series “The Last Dance” focuses on Jordan’s last year with the league β€” specifically from 1997 to 1998. A significant part of the documentary highlights Dennis Rodmans unquestionable basketball career during the late ’90s.

Rodman, a former forward on the Chicago Bulls, allegedly spent the 1998 season drinking, partying, and dating a handful of women. The series touched on Rodman’s high-profile relationships with pop star Madonna, actress Vivica A. Fox, and his ex-wife, Carmen Electra. The documentary also hinted that Rodman was romantically involved with R&B singer Toni Braxton. “The Living Legend” addressed the dating rumors via social media on Monday, April 27.

Braxton posted a throwback photo on Instagram of her and Rodman attending the 1996 MTV’s Video Music Awards. She explained in her caption: “Even though @dennisrodman was kinda hot in the 90s, I never dated Dennis Rodman. πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™€οΈJust presenting at the #VMAs in 96.”

Fans expressed that they were relieved to know that Braxton and Rodman never pursued a relationship.

One fan said, “Whew! Thank you for clearing that up lol.”

“Yes Toni you betta tell them😀.”

“Toni πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ cleared that right tf up.”

“LMFAOOOOO 😭 she said β€œTO BE CLEAR.”

“TELL THEM THE TRUTH!!!” a fifth screamed.

“πŸ—£πŸ—£ let them know auntie.”

“πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Let em know Toni ! ❀️.”

“Yes, she cleared that up real quick!πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚.”

Rodman’s erratic behavior in addition to his unusual sense of fashion, particularly in the 1990’s, caught the public’s attention. In 1996, he released his autobiography, “As Bad As I Wanna Be,” and wore a wedding dress to a New York bookstore to promote his memoir.

“The Last Dance” appears to be a huge hit. The 10-part miniseries drew in a total of 5.9 million viewers across its third and fourth episodes on Sunday, April 26. The numbers of viewers decreased slightly from its premiere episodes last week. According to ESPN, the series is the most-viewed original content on ESPN networks since 2004.

Episodes five and six are scheduled to premiere on Sunday, May 3, at 9 p.m. EST on ESPN.
