It looks like Reginae Carter and Alexis Skyy are both stepping up their acting skills.
The two television personalities both embraced their inner “Yvette,” the popular female character from John Singleton’s 2001 film “Baby Boy.” The role was played by actress Taraji P. Henson, but Carter and Skyy decided to put their own spins on it.
On Monday, Carter took to her Instagram and posted a TikTok video of herself reenacting one of Yvette’s explosive love scenes with her boyfriend Jody, played by singer and actor Tyrese Gibson in the original film. With the movie playing in the background on TikTok, Jody told Yvette that he promised to be “good” to her. Carter then channeled her inner Yvette and mouthed Yvette’s lines, “You don’t mean that s–t. You just running your mouth like you always do. You don’t even mean it, Jody.” When the character responded aggressively, the 21-year-old jumped as she stood in front of her closet door with a robe and scarf on.
Skyy took a similar approach to Carter’s but decided to wear lingerie instead. She reenacted the same scene, but with a little more dramatics. Instead of quickly jumping at the part when Jody got aggressive, the model almost leaned back into her bathroom sink. She captioned her post, “Now ladies we all had or have this nigga 😂.”
Both stars were showered with compliments on their acting skills.
“We need to see Reginae on the big screen 😊😍. You should act more I can see you in some good ass movies Lmaoo 🤣❤️”

Skyy has yet to star in any Hollywood films, but Carter made her big debut in the Lifetime film “Pride and the Prejudice Atlanta,” which premiered on television last June. She was extremely excited about her role at the time and wrote via Instagram, “I just wanna cry !! Mama and daddy, I made it !! Everybody make sure you guys watch #prideandprejudiceatlanta on @lifetimetv June 1st.”
Carter also had a role in the TV One movie “Dear Santa: I Need a Date” that premiered last Christmas season.
