Tory Lanez recently started a show called “Quarantine Radio” while people are staying indoors because of the pandemic.
DMX was a guest on the show Thursday, March 26, and said he has new music coming. But before that, Lanez let DMX know how much he truly admires him.
“We are complete fans right now. We f—–g love everything that you’ve done for hip-hop and for everything,” said Lanez.
That’s when DMX let him know that he’s been busy recording.
“I’m down here in Nashville working on an album,” he revealed. “Music don’t stop.”
Afterward, Lanez asked DMX to deliver an impromptu verse, but he declined. He did give his famous growl, however, which made Lanez scream with excitement.
DMX’s last album was 2015’s “Redemption of the Beast.” Before that he released the LP “Undisputed” in 2012.
He’s unfortunately had problems with substance abuse for many years and had multiple run-ins with the law as well. In March 2018, DMX was sentenced to one year in prison for tax evasion and was released in January of last year.
Once out, he re-signed with his label Def Jam Records, began doing press appearances and started playing shows. But in October of last year, DMX suffered a relapse with his addiction and checked himself into a rehab facility.
As for his new album, the rapper hasn’t mentioned how far he is into the recording process. But that didn’t stop his fans from saying how eager they are to hear the new material. There were also people who commented on his appearance and said he looks really healthy.
“Still waiting on a new X album cmon DMX we need you back in the game already,” one fan tweeted.
“DMX such a legend childhood favorite,” another message read.
“Man looks healthy. That’s dope,” someone else commented.
