The Atlanta leisure and dining scene is full of options, some offered by celebrities such as singer K. Michelle, who is joining forces with longtime restaurateur Shema Fulton for a pop-up dining experience beginning Jan. 18.
Michelle owns restaurant and lounge Puffs and Petals, and Fulton is the mastermind behind several restaurant ventures, including popular seafood spot Pearl Lounge. The Atlanta boss women say the pop-up will treat guest to a fusion of the best of both establishments.
“We got a little bit of everything going in the one space,” said Fulton.
The women have been friends for years and their professional relationship precedes the pop-up, as Fulton has been assisting the former Love and Hip Hop cast mate with her lounge for years.
“This is two women teaming up together to do something that they love,” said Michelle.
After 14 years on Peters Street, Fulton lost her restaurant in a Sept. 8 fire, while Michelle’s space is closed temporarily as she sorts out parking and venue size problems that have been an issue in properly satisfying customers’ lounge and dining experience making the two women’s business venture that much more exciting.
The experience, named Puff meets Pearl at Garden Parc, will be held every Saturday as the women look for permanent venues to house their two restaurants.
“A lot of times when you get in business with someone you find out they’re not up to par,” said Michelle of finding someone to work with. For the singer and Fulton that simply isn’t the case. “She’s easy to work with and she [Fulton] know’s what she’s doing. It was a no-brainer. It just made sense,” added Michelle.
Adding to the fun of the dining experience, fans can expect to see friend of the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” crew Marlo Hampton, and enjoy drinks and entertainment while filling their bellies with crab legs and other Fulton seafood specialties.
Michelle even chimed in on the conversation as to whether or not Hampton should get a peach.
“Marlo should have been had a peach, absolutely,” quipped Michelle and Fulton of Hampton who will serve as the event’s bartender.
From 3 p.m. to midnight this Saturday diners can indulge in the Puff meets Pearl pop-up experience at Garden Parc, located at 792 Cascade Ave SW in Atlanta. The pop-up is slated to run every Saturday thereafter at that venue from noon until midnight.
