It seems there’s still some unanswered questions about singer Fetty Wap being the father of Alexis Skyy‘s child.
The “Trap Queen” singer never officially claimed Skyy’s 2-year-old daughter Alaiya Grace as his biological child, although he was at the hospital with Skyy when she gave birth. Since the father of seven has had mixed answers about whether the toddler is his child or not, his long birthday message to her and her mother came as a surprise to fans.
“Happy Birthday Miss Grace … you are the strongest person I have ever met,” Wap wrote via Instagram on Jan. 4 next to a picture of the child from approximately nine months ago. “I watched you fight through some sh-t that me and your mom cried about not knowing if you was gonna make it out & now look 2 years of age and still holdin that smile 💯 … I can’t wait to see the powerful young lady you become … ♥️ HBD lil lady.”
Although Wap disabled fans from commenting on his post, Skyy’s fans still posed questions of their own.
“I’m confused so are you the father or nah? He never said daughter in his post 👀”
“Oh so he is the father????? For the longest he ain’t claim her now he wanna send bday wishes. Masika somwhere mad”
“This ain’t his kid. He just wished her a happy bday cuz he been aroudn, but carry on”
“He sounds like a friend of the family instead of a dad but this was so sweet 💕”
During season 9 of “Love and Hip Hop: New York” Skyy and Wap feuded about the singer never publicly claiming baby Alaiya as his daughter. He also refused to take a DNA test on camera.
In a recent Instagram Live video that’s now deleted from his page, Wap revealed that he may not be Skyy’s daughter’s biological father.
“Me and her mother fell out but that ain’t got nothing to do with the baby,” he said back in September 2019. “When I feel like I want to be there, I’m going to be there. I’m gonna help, but as far as me going above my boundaries…nah. If it was biological with me, then it would be different.”
Out of “respect for” her then-relationship with rapper Trouble, Skyy decided not to comment on Wap’s remarks.
The model’s daughter was born three months premature on Jan. 4, 2018. Wap apparently was by her side throughout the birth.
