Congratulations are in order for “Black Ink Crew: Chicago” star Charmaine Walker and her husband Neek Bey, who shared some exciting baby news with fans this past weekend.
The television personality took to Instagram on Sunday, Dec. 1, and announced they are expecting their first child together. Sharing a video of herself receiving an ultrasound, Walker wrote, “Expecting Baby Bey March 2020 💕🦋.”
She also mentioned her late mother Glenda Walker, who passed away in October, adding, “She was so excited 🦋.”
“The night before she unexpectedly passed away she said ‘I still can’t believe my baby is having a baby!’ I’ll never forget those words. This has been an emotional roller coaster but I’m blessed to be bringing life into this world. #BabyBey”
Of course, the comments section of Walker’s post was filled with congratulations on her and Neek’s expanding family. Others also sent their condolences regarding her late mother.
“Awww congratulations y’all @charmainej_tv❤️🎉 . You know the saying. You loose one, you get one what a blessing”
“OMG!!! Char You Are Super Strong 💪🏾 Congratulations🎉🎉To You x Neek on Baby Bey 👶🏽 you two deserve it”
“Congratulations you will be an awesome mommie you learned from the best @charmainej_tv 👑 I pray you have a girl!”
“💖 When God calls a angel home, he’ll give one back! This baby gonna be a ultimate blessing for you and your family.”
Walker’s mother passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 23. The cause of death is still unknown, but her daughter had previously referred to Glenda Walker grappling with an unspecified illness.
“Words can’t express how I feel 💔 I love you mommy and this is going to be hard to move on from,” the “Black Ink” star wrote at the time. “I’m trying to stay positive but some moments are really hard. Thanks for being my number 1 fan since the day I was born.”
As for Walker and Bey, the couple got engaged in March after knowing each other for 10 years since meeting at Howard University. They apparently tied the knot sometime in November. Neither has children from past relationships, so their unborn child will be the first for both.
Walker will also be returning to “Black Ink Crew: Chicago” for season 6. The series premieres on Dec. 4 at 8 p.m. Eastern Time on VH1.
