This Sunday marks the return of Nene Leakes to “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” and perhaps no one is more excited about it than the longtime star herself. But one person who doesn’t appear to be here for it is co-star Porsha Williams.
Leakes made a lengthy Instagram post on Friday, Nov. 15, sharing a glimpse of what’s to come for her on episode 3 of season 12.

“Now that the pre-show has ended, The REAL PREMIERE starts SUNDAY at 8pm on @bravotv…..” Leakes’ caption throwing shade at her cast mates began. “With existing relationship issues and having people not understanding the role and toll it takes on the care giver, threw our relationship into an emotional roller coaster! We both cried, cussed, slammed doors and prayed.
“We’re in a marriage so what happens to him, happens to me! If you support 1, you gotta support the other!” she continued of her experience as husband Gregg Leakes battled cancer last season. “For anyone to say i was making his cancer about me, has no heart at all and clearly has no understanding about what cancer does to a family. My tears were not for me, they were for him #f–kcancer @americancancersociety TUNE IN! We keep it 1000 in the leakes home ALWAYS❤️”
The accompanying footage saw the Leakes addressing how their marriage had been affected by Gregg’s colon cancer diagnosis.
“I can see that it’s still tough for you,” Gregg tells his wife. “No matter what in all of this you did the best you can do, which I think you did a champion’s job.”
A weepy Nene dabs tears from her eyes before saying, “I don’t want to cry because if I cry, you know … I’ll be making it about me if I cry.”
“Guess what? It is about you,” says Gregg, who has since become cancer-free.
But amid the on-screen moment, there were comments from fans about Leakes touting her inaugural season 12 appearance as “the real premiere” while the preceding episodes without her were simply the “pre-show.”
Williams decided to chime in with what she described as “fun shade” by commenting, “Oh I’m sure ratings will be thru the roof! Let’s see if ratings quadruple 🤸🏾♀️🤸🏾♀️👏🏾🙌🏾 #FunShade #PreShowCoStar 😂”
The 38-year-old’s remark left fans rolling with laughter.

Williams assured “RHOA” viewers in a follow-up comment that she was “poking fun,” and it seems to be so considering the cordial photo op she snapped with Leakes in October. The two were all smiles at Marlo Hampton’s charity event for her nonprofit Glam It Up.
