Tami Roman bid “Basketball Wives” adieu and now she’s seeing the results of one of her acting gigs come to life.
The reality TV star-turned actress attended the premiere of the new Apple TV+ series “Truth Be Told” at The Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Los Angeles Monday night.
“Tonight was magical 💫Enjoyed the premiere of #TruthBeTold on @appletvplus starring @octaviaspencer and EP’d by @tramblegirl & @reesewitherspoon So excited for you to see this amazing cast & my character ‘Lillian’ 🙌🏽🙌🏽 #blessed,” read Roman’s Nov. 11 Instagram caption.
The star attended the event with daughter Lyric Anderson by her side. “Truth Be Told” follows Octavia Spencer as an investigative reporter who uses her podcast to discover the truth surrounding the death of a family patriarch. The series, which Roman wrapped filming on with Spencer in December 2018, was originally titled, “Are You Sleeping,” which is the name of the true-crime novel by Kathleen Barber upon which the show is based.
It’s reported that Roman’s character of Lillian Scoville is Spencer’s character’s “saucy stepmother.”
“It’s a wrap! Soooo…I’m really a mushy person with a hard exterior. I said that to say this… @octaviaspencer THANK YOU for everything! I simply adore you! Your positive energy is infectious and I thank you for encouraging, uplifting and empowering me 💋❤️ You and @tramblegirl have truly blessed me #areyousleeping,” read the caption of an “ussie” Roman shared of herself and Spencer to her Instagram account last year.
This year, however, fans are applauding “The Real World” alum for continuing to make a name for herself as a Hollywood actress.
“blessed, booked, & busy looks good on you❤️ proud of you Tami and can’t wait to see it🤍❤️🤍❤️”
“Awesome so proud of tami blessings 😀👍”
“Your success is the only reunion show I’ll ever watch! And it’s live and direct 😍👌🏾”
“I see you Queen Sis!💫👑💫🙌🏿✌🏿”
“WHEN JESUS SAY YES, NOBODY CAN SAY ANYTHING 😇♥️ #BANG #ZOOM #OVER #THE #MOON”
“Girl you are booked and busy…get it 🙌🏽👏🏽”
Roman’s turn in the series will mark the latest in a line of on-screen acting credits the star has racked up over the past year. She also starred in BET’s adaptation of Carl Weber’s “The Family Business” and appeared in the made-for-TV film “Fall Girls” in 2018.
