Stevie J.’s son Dorian Henderson was arrested on Oct. 31 in Buffalo, New York, on a gun charge, and he’s currently in custody.
According to reports, Henderson is being held at the Erie County Correctional Center in Alden, New York, and he’s been charged with criminal possession of a firearm.
If convicted, the 24-year-old could be sentenced to four years in prison, since laws surrounding criminal possession of a weapon under New York Penal Code Article 265 are some of the strictest in the U.S.
Henderson and his famous father haven’t been the closest in the past. In fact, Stevie’s son, who’s a rapper, dropped a diss track against his dad some years ago and accused him of not being in his life.
“Why every time I looked you wasn’t there / Why you leave for all them years and make me feel like you ain’t care / They only love you ’cause you famous, you know I don’t really care / I was just looking for that father, son bond that we could share,” rapped Henderson.
But the two men have patched things up since that cut was released.
Last year, however, Henderson’s mother Rhonda Henderson claimed Stevie owed her a large amount of money and also said she financially supported him before fame hit.
“I’m the thread of all of this pulled together,” she told Hollywood Life. “This zebra never changed his stripes. He did the same things over 25 years ago. I poured into him, I bought him his first studio, his first piece of equipment and all he does is take, take, take and never gives.”
“Stevie takes your kindness for weakness,” added Rhonda. “I have given him thousands and thousands of dollars and when he gets the opportunity to get on his feet, he never gives back. Since he got married, I just went back to child support. He currently owes me $400,000.”
Stevie got married to Faith Evans in 2018, and neither of them have commented on Henderson’s arrest yet. And according to Erie County Correctional Center’s website, a bond hasn’t been set for the 24-year-old at this time.
