‘I See Things Differently’: Kevin Hart Speaks Out for First Time Since Car Crash, Shares What He’s Learned

Kevin Hart has been silent about the car crash that happened on Sept. 1, but that changed after the actor and comedian posted a video talking about it.

The clip also showed him in the hospital and undergoing physical therapy.

Hart’s 1970 Plymouth Barracuda ran off the Mulholland Highway in Malibu, California, before it crashed into a fence, which left the 40-year-old with spinal fractures that required surgery.

He was in the passenger seat at the time, and his friend Jared Black was driving, while Black’s partner Rebecca Broxterman was in the backseat.

In the Instagram video, Hart talked about what he’s learned from the accident.

“Basically, what you realize is that you’re not in control,” he said. “No matter how much you think you’re in control, you’re not in control. At the end of the day, it can all be over, man.”

Hart also said he saw the accident as a sign that he was doing too much in his life and needed to slow down.

“In this case, I honestly feel like God basically told me to sit down,” he explained. “When you moving too fast and you doing too much, sometimes you can’t see the things that you’re meant to see. But after my accident, I see things differently. I see life from a whole new perspective. My appreciation for life is through the roof.”

Earlier this month, it was reported that the accident was caused by reckless driving, and that Black was driving at a high rate of speed. Police said that no one in the vehicle were wearing seat belts either.

Plus, there were reports that said Black and Broxterman have lawyered up, and there was some tension between the couple and Hart. Broxterman is said to be the physical trainer for the comedian’s wife Eniko Parrish.

But Hart released a statement through his lawyer earlier this month and said he had no problem with Black and his partner.

“I have nothing but love for Jared and wish him and Rebecca a speedy recovery,” he stated.
