Angela Simmons is continuing to brave life as a single mom in the year following the death of her ex-fiancé Sutton Tennyson, and her fans are praising her efforts.
The “Growing Up Hip Hop” star posted a series of photos to her Instagram page Sunday that saw her and her young son, SJ, dressed to the nines. Simmons wore a black vest and matching slacks with high heels and a hot pink blazer. Meanwhile, her 3-year-old child wore a royal blue suit with a black bow tie and black shoes. The duo prepared to attend the wedding of Simmons’ younger brother, JoJo Simmons.

The image instantly led fans to pour out with supportive remarks about how well Simmons was raising her young son.

Simmons has been raising SJ on her own following the shooting death of her former betrothed in November 2018. In a candid Instagram post she made in the wake of Tennyson’s death, the reality star disclosed just how hard his passing had been on her.
“Thank you for leaving behind my greatest gift,” she said in the caption of a series of family photos. “I’m hurting . I’m numb. Thank you for the out pouring of love everyone . I cant believe I’m even saying Rest In Peace Sutton . I promise to hold SJ down in every way I promise ❣️”
Sutton had been shot and killed in the driveway of his Atlanta home. An autopsy report released in February revealed he was hit 13 times in the arm, chest, stomach and legs. Police said he had gotten into a tense argument with the suspected shooter, who was later charged with murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Yet while Simmons is now a single mom, her family has rallied to help her. That includes newlywed JoJo, who took his nephew to get a haircut in December 2018, filling in the void Tennyson’s death left.
