Keyshia Cole is not your typical R&B songstress. The singer is covered in a host of tattoos showing she’s anything but a silver spooned-performer and also that she keeps her family and faith in the forefront of her life.
Here is a sampling of five sets of ink that Cole has gotten as she’s risen up the ranks of success.
Keeping the Faith
Cole has a small red heart tattooed just behind her right ear with the words, “Have Faith” below it. “I feel strongly and deeply that my faith got me here, that its how I accomplished my dreams,” she told Urban Ink of her faith-based ink.
Her Firstborn Son
Cole is now a mother of two, having welcomed son Tobias Khale with boyfriend Niko “Khale” Hale. But she previously got some ink to commemorate her firstborn son, Daniel Gibson Jr., whom she welcomed in 2010 with former NBA player and her ex-husband Daniel Gibson. The tat on the singer’s left forearm reads “Daniel Jr” with red hearts on either side of it.
Truly Blessed
Keeping up with the theme of faith, Cole has a tattoo that reminds her she’s “Truly Blessed.” The ink is on her left shoulder in a script font and is on top of a line of blue stars and a single butterfly.
A Stake Through the Heart
In another reminder of the good in her life, Cole has a grayscale tattoo of a heart with a stake through it as red blood drips out of the organ. The entire thing is enclosed in a star shape on her upper left arm. She said to Urban Ink that it “symbolizes my religion” and “the star behind it also symbolizes everything I am.”
Tooting Her Own Horn
There’s no shame in feeling confident and Cole showed that with a grayscale tattoo of roses, clouds and smoke on her left wrist. The designs surround her initials K.C., which she explained to Urban Ink is “because I’m hot.”
