5 Times Fans Couldn’t Tell Toya Wright and Reginae Carter Apart

“How to Lose a Husband” author Toya Wright seemingly has a doppelgänger, and it just happens to be her daughter Reginae Carter.

Social media users typically have a hard time distinguishing the mother-daughter duo from each other in social media photos and often label them as twins. It’s clear the 20-year-old star takes after her mother’s genes and could pass as her carbon copy. Here are five times the internet couldn’t tell Toya Wright and her daughter Reginae Carter apart.

Their Mother-Daughter Cameo Before 2019 Super Bowl LIII

Earlier this year, Wright and Carter posed for a sweet family photo together, which led several fans to comment on how much they resemble each other. Both were headed to Super Bowl LIII and dressed up in black and gold attire in honor of their favorite football team, the New Orleans Saints.

The 20-year-old former “Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta” star is known for posting her selfies all over Instagram. However, one picture she shared on March 4 confused a fan who mistook her for Wright.

She shared a photo highlighting her beauty and minimal makeup look, when fans were left puzzled.

“I almost thought this pic was Toya but it’s her baby 😍❤️,” one fan commented earlier this year. Geez!! she looks just like her mother.”

A second fan tagged Wright in her daughter’s image and wrote, “Toya girl I thought this way you. Priceless  i get confused every time @toyawright I swear y’all twins 👀”

The Duo’s Family Portrait with Baby Reign Rushing

On March 11, Wright, 36, shared a photo of herself and her girls Carter and 1-year-old Reign Rushing. The picture only partially revealed Wright and Carter’s faces, and it seems fans had a pretty hard time telling them apart, especially since they had similar hairdos.

“I almost couldn’t tell you & @colormenae apart lol,” one person commented underneath the mother of two’s photo. “Toya had that baby all by herself 😍.”

In early August, Wright posted a photo of herself sporting casualwear in a social media post. She sported a lime green sweater and jogger suit with a pair of multicolored Puma sneakers.

At first glance, looking at the 36-year-old’s face, fans immediately misidentified her for her eldest daughter.

Someone else remarked, “That’s not Reginae? Girl I thought you was your daughter at first.”

The former “GUHHATL” Star’s Casualwear Pic

In May, the “Pride & Prejudice: Atlanta” actress posted a fashion post of herself wearing casualwear, including a white graphic T-shirt, jeans, sneakers and sunglasses.

Due to Carter wearing sunglasses, folks immediately mistook her for her mother.

“I thought you was Toya 😍😍!! girl you look just like your mama,” one fan wrote on May 16.

Another said, “Thought u was ya mom for a second am I the only one who thought it was Toya 🤦”

Wright shares an extremely tight bond with her eldest daughter and even considers Carter her friend.

“Reginae and I are very close,” Wright told Cosmopolitan in December 2017. “I’m not only her mother, but her friend. When I first had Reginae, I had so much support from my family and of course her Dad, Wayne. The advice I would give to any parent is always be open with your children. We have been very blessed!”
