Nene Leakes fans have long waited for the star to change up her hair and while she’s still rocking the blond, she added a new aspect to her tresses that has her followers raving.
“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star uploaded a photo to her Instagram page Wednesday showing off a wig that had an unexpected addition: a bang.
“It’s a banging kind of day,” Leakes captioned the Oct. 9 post.
Instantly, fans raved about the wig.

They also felt the bangs brought a more youthful appearance to the 51-year-old star.

Leakes has been keeping a relatively low profile online of late. Rather than sparring with the likes of Porsha Williams or Kenya Moore like she was over the last year, Leakes has focused on her businesses. Recently, the star hosted an event at the Atlanta-area location of Swagg Boutique promoting a new collection of luxury wigs. She’s also been soaking up time with those who matter to her, including husband Gregg Leakes and pal Wendy Williams, the latter of whom was previously left much like how many of Leakes’ “RHOA” co-stars ended up after season 11: cut off.
The talk show host and onetime actress had a falling-out in 2013 after Leakes felt Williams shaded her marriage. Leakes had not appeared on “The Wendy Williams Show” since.
But that changed his year after Leakes got a call from Williams about grabbing dinner.
“When you get the call that says…Sis, let’s get off the bulls–t and get on some real s–t. OVERCOMING (I’m just saying it how it was said) This nite right here, was a movie! No No you don’t understand, A REAL MOVIE @wendyshow LISTEN, every week i get a call from someone advocating for this to happen. IT HAPPENED! @erndukes you did dat❤️,” Leakes shared on Instagram in August.
The star appeared on Williams’ talk show the following month.
