After teasing fans about going back to the short haircut she wore on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” back in the day, Kandi Burruss debuted a new look that her fans adore.
The singer uploaded a video on Thursday to her Instagram TV feed as former “RHOA” star and hairstylist Derek J flat ironed her short wig.
“Her best looks are with shorter hair,” Derek says in the footage, which Burruss said gave her “a taste of the cut life.”
“You gon’ have me feeling myself,” Burruss gushed before teasing Derek about going back to flat iron her hair and adding some “tight ass curls.” The hair care professional and TV host explained he felt the hair “looked flat on camera.”
“Anything above the shoulder is what good for her,” he added.
Fans swiftly ate up the look, which was an asymmetrical cut that saw a shaggy side-swept bang fall into Burruss’ left eye.

Several fans also remarked the ‘do was similar to the one she wore when Xscape’s sophomore album “Off the Hook” dropped in 1995.

Burruss initially began mulling going back to short hair around the time that she posted a throwback photo with Sister 2 Sister magazine publisher/owner Jamie Foster Brown on Instagram in August.
“#FBF about 11yrs ago somewhere with @jamiefosterbrown. I have no idea where we were but since I’m reminiscing about my short haircut I thought I’d post this. 💇🏾♀️,” Burruss wrote in the caption of the circa 2008 image.
It was the second time in as many days that Burruss had posted about ditching her longer tresses. And fans felt that by then the singer should just take the plunge.
