Tamar Braxton is showing no signs of slowing down with her boyfriend David Adefeso. The singer began dating her man in secret last summer and finally showed him off to the world in April at the season 6 premiere of “Braxton Family Values,” Still, it may not be clear exactly who Adefeso is, so below are five facts you may not know about Braxton’s main squeeze.
That’s Not My Name
While fans finally learned in April that Braxton’s man’s name is David Adefeso, that’s not actually his given name. His real name is Adeyemi, which is what he used to sign off on a lengthy Father’s Day ode he gave to his late father on Instagram in June.
Black Bill Gates In the Making?
Last September, Braxton gave the most information she ever had at that point on her man… or at least, Wendy Williams did. The talk show host said on “The Wendy Williams Show” that Braxton’s guy is “in wealth finance.”
Specifically, Adefeso is the CEO of The Pacific Group, a financial services firm with offices in Los Angeles and Fort Wort where Adefeso has worked since 2002, according to his LinkedIn account. The company specializes in corporate services like risk management as well as personal ones like wealth management.
I Am Not My Hair
Fans have always known Adefeso to have locs, but years ago, he wore his hair much more similarly to the way his girlfriend has been rocking her tresses when wigs aren’t covering her head: in a low haircut.
Adefeso shared a photo of himself on Instagram in September. It was him back when he had less hair hanging from his scalp. It apparently rendered him so unrecognizable that Braxton commented, “Harpo?? ….Who dat man??”
Hailing From the Motherland
One of the first things fans learned about Adefeso even before they knew what he looked is where he is from. Tamar nicknamed him T’Chella, which is a take on the Black Panther’s name T’Challa. She also confirmed he’s from Lagos, Nigeria.
“He lives in L.A., he’s originally from Nigeria, but he lived here for a while,” Braxton told “The Wendy Williams Show” last year.
Family Over Everything
Like his girlfriend, Adefeso comes from a huge family. He shared a throwback picture of himself with his parents and three other siblings back when he was, as he described himself, Baby David.
“Baby David Says- ‘When you visit your childhood places you realize it’s not the places you long for, it’s your childhood…’ Can you figure out which one is me? #tbt,” he captioned the photo.
