Kevin Hart is ‘Grateful’ and Back Home After Car Accident

Kevin Hart is now home from the hospital, where he’s started intense physical therapy. He’s also happy to be alive.

TMZ reports that Hart has left an inpatient rehab facility, weeks after his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda ran off the road in Malibu, California. He then went to the hospital with three spinal fractures and stayed there for 10 days under heavy pain medication. The comedian had to undergo surgery as well.

According to a source, Hart viewed the photos of the crash, plus, the mangled vehicle, and he’s shocked there weren’t any casualties. The entire roof of the car was torn off and the front completely smashed in.

Hart was in the passenger seat of his vehicle at the time, while his friend Jared Black was driving.

Black’s partner Rebecca Broxterman was in the back seat when the Plymouth crashed into a fence, and she’s the trainer of Hart’s wife Eniko Parrish. The insider stated the “Night School” actor is “grateful” and “shocked” to be alive after the accident.

He also doesn’t have any pressing work obligations at the moment, so he’s able to fully focus on his recovery.

The 40-year-old has a physical therapist coming to his house as well, and he does plenty of stretching exercises with therapy bands. And the insider said Hart is recovering without the use of medication, even though he’s still in a lot of pain.

The accident has changed Hart too, because the source said he has “a new perspective on life” and “really cherishes the fact that he’s alive. And he wants to make the most of it in every respect, [because] the crash had a huge impact on him.”

Fortunately for Hart, doctors, as well as the physical therapist, expect him to make a full recovery.
