Tameka “Tiny” Harris is calling “bulls–t” on recent reports of her allegedly splitting from ’90s girl group Xscape.
Last weekend, reports surfaced that the “I F–kin Luv U” singer “officially quit” the R&B group to pursue a solo career in music. Harris, however, denied the allegations and wrote on her Instagram story, “Fake News!! I never once said I was leaving Xscape!!”
She continued, “All my girls @iamlatocha @kandi @therealtamikascott know I’m ready when they ready! Period!!!”
As a matter of fact, Harris recently confirmed to Atlanta Black Star during the 2019 Black Music Honors awards on Sept. 5 that she and group members LaTocha Scott, Kandi Burruss and Tamika Scott were heading back into the studio to record another album. She added, “When everybody schedule get together we gon’ get in that studio.”
In April, the group also announced they were recording new music for their biopic. During a private listening party for her EP, Harris said, “I’m sure we’ll be recording new music for the biopic and probably redoing some of our old songs. I’m sure it’ll be some new music from Xscape.”
The R&B quartet reunited for the 2017 BET Awards show after last performing together nearly two decades ago. They performed their hit single “Just Kickin’ It” and blew the house down.
Fan applauded Harris for addressing the false reports surrounding her and her band mates.
“I’m glad Tiny addressed this. I hate to think they had broken up. Tiny doing her thing”
“I can’t wait to go to their next show. They’ve been together too long to breakup”
“I’m glad she said something so quick. MTO just be reporting anything smh. Xscape’s music is legendary. They been together for too long”
