Steve Harvey Gets Candid About Marital Woes: ‘Got to Get a Divorce to Find Right Chick’

Steve Harvey is expanding the “Family Feud” brand and while promoting the venture in its upcoming home of South Africa, he’s getting candid about some “bad decisions” he’s made on the business and marriage front.

Harvey, who has hosted “Family Feud” and the offshoot, “Celebrity Family Feud” since 2010 and 2015 respectively, explained to South Africa’s eNCA late last month that he has not always been a success. Harvey has already been open about the three years he spent living in his car in the 1980s, but once he got some success, he had some bad investments along the way.

“If I could get back the money I lost in bad investments, I could quit working right now. I could stop. I’ve made so many bad decisions,” he said. “The biggest investment I’ve ever made was my investment in people. That’s been my greatest investment. That return has been the greatest thing I’ve ever seen.”

And in Harvey’s life, there have also been soured relationships. The former host of “Steve” has been married three times, first to Marcia Harvey in 1980 and then to Mary Lee Harvey in 1996. The comic was wed to each wife for 14 and nine years respectively before he wed current spouse Marjorie Harvey in 2007.

“If you’ve never failed, what do you know? You know nothing. You’ve got to get a divorce to find the right chick. I know a little bit about that,” the “Kings of Comedy” alum said with a laugh.

Steve and Marjorie have been going strong for more than a decade, celebrating their 12th wedding anniversary in June.

“Happy anniversary to the chick of my dreams @marjorie_harvey,” Steve captioned a photo of him with Marjorie, whom he dated for more than a decade before putting a ring on it.

But their marriage has not been smooth sailing in the press. The duo has been plagued by rumors of an impending divorce twice within the last year including a rumor last summer that Kris Jenner was getting in between the couple. This year a new report claimed Steve was gearing up to put their shared properties in Texas in his name and the place them on the market.

The Harveys hit back at the allegations with a sketch while attending the Kentucky Derby where they pretended to be puzzled by claims they were heading for Splitsville.
