Days after a car accident claimed the life of Grammy-winning songwriter LaShawn Daniels, his collaborator and pal Tamar Braxton has broken her silence.
Daniels is responsible for many hits by a host of iconic performers including Whitney Houston, Beyoncé, and Michael Jackson among others. He also penned Braxton’s breakout solo hit “Love & War,” the efforts of which were shown on her former reality show “Tamar & Vince.”
“Lashawn, I thank you. I love you. I miss you. 💔I promise to tell Beans how funny and talented his half God father was. You were truly the best of the best. It’s been so hard these past few days…there was so much left to say, laugh and cry about. My heart aches.💔 Goodbye friend,” Braxton lovingly wrote on Instagram Friday.
Tuesday’s death of the 41-year-old lyricist and producer, who was known in the industry as Big Shiz, was confirmed by his publicist Jojo Pada, according to The New York Times. Pada said she had no details on the crash that occurred in Catawba, South Carolina. Daniel’s wife April Daniels had confirmed her husband’s passing on Instagram Wednesday and requested privacy for the family.
Meanwhile, fans have been relieved to know that Braxton recognized the death of Daniels, who also appeared on “Braxton Family Values” and helped earn Braxton a 2013 Grammy nomination for her single.
“I was waiting for this 😢😞💔🙏🏾”
“This whole thing breaks my heart like I know y’all. I’ve been thinking about you all week. He was hilarious on the show, and so relatable. I feel for everyone who knew him personally, because most of us are just fans that he touched through the screen and his music. But his wife, kids, friends, and family definitely need to be covered in prayer. It’s just sad man… 😢🙏🏽💔”
“I know this hit you hard when I first heard you were one of the first I though about sending love and strength your way Tay ❤️❤️❤️💕💕💕 @tamarbraxton.”
“I was waiting to see how you were doing , we as your fans know the relationship you all shared and we are praying for you.”
Braxton’s sister, Trina Braxton, also recognized Daniel’s passing and left several heart emoji on Tamar’s post.
