It’s safe to say music producer Stevie J. is clearly over social media bringing up the late Notorious B.I.G. when it comes to his marriage with singer Faith Evans.
Although Stevie and Evans, the ex-wife of “Biggie Smalls,” seemed to be happily married, it doesn’t stop trolls from spewing negativity about their relationship. The “Hit It Again” producer took to Instagram on Tuesday and posted a photo of his fresh new shape-up.
The image showed him wearing a long-sleeved white shirt, a red scarf and black sunglasses. He posed for his selfie with a smug look on his face and wrote via Instagram, ” Damn, I clean up nice 👍🏽.”
One of Stevie’s IG followers apparently thought it’d be wise to crack a joke and commented underneath his post, “Faith gave him biggie old shades.”
Clearly not in the mood for any malarkey, the “Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta” actor fired back, “Get a new joke & while ya at it get some new white tees u bum.”
Fans chimed in under Stevie’s response with mixed reactions of their own.
“😂😂 don’t pay these broke trolls no mind they just mad they ain’t you”
“Lol awww mane they sure do look like biggie old shades LOL😂😂… Instagram ain’t sh$t!!!! Man y’all getting worst than FB”
“🤣 tell him Stevey that’s code leave my hitta along he got not chill yall ain’t learned that yet”
‘Dang uncle steebie u just ruined that kid’s self-esteem 😩 no more”
Stevie and Evans shockingly tied the knot last July in their Las Vegas hotel room, surrounded by family and friends, shortly after applying for a marriage license in Clark County, Nevada.
The “Hitman” producer announced their marriage on Twitter, writing, “I love you Faith Renee Jordan,” to which the “One More Chance” singer replied, “I love you back Steven Aaron Jordan.”
The couple received a lot of backlash for their union, considering Stevie used to work closely with Evans and her then-husband Notorious B.I.G., when he was a part of “Bad Boy Entertainment.” However, during an interview with BET show Raq Rants in December, Stevie addressed the backlash, saying that he believed Biggie would be happy for his and Faith’s marriage were the Brooklyn rapper still alive.
“It’s 20-something years later I’m sure he would be happy that she happy and he would be doing his thing,” he said. Stevie added, “It’s a Jordan affair.”
