Wendy Williams got up bright and early Friday morning as she prepared to head out on a girls trip with famous pals and reality stars Tamar Braxton and Nene Leakes.
The talk show host, who has been plagued by a host of canceled shows on her comedy tour, teased the trek to Miami on her Instagram page August 30.
“Grab your POOF & run to the plane! Yasss! #miami #girlstrip,” she captioned a pic of her posing in a feathered frock in front of a jet on a tarmac.
While Williams appears to be totally psyched for the vacation, Braxton and Leakes expressed hesitation considering Hurricane Dorian caused Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to declare a state of emergency for the entire state Thursday.
“I’m scared.com😫” Braxton commented before adding separately, “🙋🏾♀️ y’all two are my favorites ❤️❤️❤️AND I’m here for the turn up….. BUT…I’m not trying turn up in the air in the hurricane 👀🤔…..”
Leakes also chimed in saying in her own comment, confirming she was heading to The Magic City as well, “My sis looking good! On the wayyyy! Kinda scared of the weather tho😭😭😭😭”
Despite concerns, Williams shared an update to Instagram declaring that she safely touched down in the Sunshine State.
“So far no rain! The POOF & I made it to our fancy room,” she explained in the caption of a photo of the room’s wall before noting Braxton ultimately decided not to join the festivities. “Tamar was scared of Dorian hurricane so she stayed in LA…NeNe will be here tmrw. That leaves me to hang with my mom, dad, son, sister, niece, nephew and brother-in-law! Family first❤”
Then, Williams revealed that Leakes wouldn’t be showing up after all.
“Okay so now NeNe’s flight is canceled. Both girls stood me up, but said let’s just hang in NYC. I’m good with that because I’ve got the Judge Marilyn Milian who lives lavishly with her family here in Miami. #peoplescourt #miami,” the talk show host wrote.
Insiders blabbed to TMZ that the Labor Day weekend trek to Miami is meant to keep the good times plowing ahead as she continues to celebrate her singledom. Williams, who filed to divorce her husband Kevin Hunter in April, allegedly plans on partying the entire weekend by attending yacht parties and stopping at all the clubs.
The trip comes after Williams told Hollywood Unlocked about what it’s like to turn up with her son. She shared a photo to Instagram posted up with Kevin Hunter Jr. at a club in Elizabeth, New Jersey, last week. They also attended the Jeezy “TM 104” listening party at Up & Down nightclub in New York City.
“I didn’t know whether to call DYFS on myself,” Williams said after saying it was “weird” partying with the 19-year-old college sophomore. “I never thought I’d be that mom.”
