Cynthia Bailey is officially set to become Mrs. Mike Hill, and the star is giving thanks to the talk show host responsible for them coming together.
In a lengthy Monday ode to family, friends and fans after her engagement over the weekend, Bailey shared some love for Steve Harvey, who paired her up with Hill on his talk show in April 2018.
“never give up on love. we are all deserving of the best feeling in the 🌎. trust God & go with your heart. God’s plan, God’s will & God’s speed, not yours. always believe. never stop. never settle. be happy. and grateful. love can show up when you least expect it & in the unlikeliest of places. thank u my friend @iamsteveharveytv. and when it happens, don’t walk, run toward it. and enjoy. life is too short💋” she wrote accompanied by tags for her daughter, Hill’s daughters and the couple’s hashtag, #CHill, among others.
“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star was a year out from her divorce from Peter Thomas when she decided to give love another shot. Harvey put her on his program last year, and the hunt was on for Mr. Right. But among the three contenders, Hill was the one Bailey chose, bowing to Harvey’s urging after she was going to go for a guy who was more local. Bailey admitted she thought that dating the California-based Fox Sports 1 newscaster wouldn’t work for her Atlanta-area residency.
“Cynthia Bailey was going to pick somebody else,” Harvey told “Entertainment Tonight” in an interview last year. “I told her, ‘You’re not picking that guy, you gon’ pick this guy’ [referring to Hill].”
Bailey and Hill appeared again on his talk show — this time as a couple — in November 2018.
The “RHOA” star, who recently opened her new wine cellar, where Hill popped the question this weekend, corrected Harvey for taking full credit for her newfound love.
“You just can’t take all the credit, Steve, now,” Bailey said. “‘Cause you have been like, ‘I did that, that was all me.’ Now, we did have to work this thing out. But he was very consistent. He was very consistent throughout the whole time.”
Now that consistency has led to a proposal with a 5-carat princess cut solitaire ring from Simon G. Jewelry worth $85,000, People magazine reported. So while Bailey’s pal Kandi Burruss thought the model was “doing the most online” when it came to her hopes to wed, it now seems she can’t be doing enough!
