Second time’s the charm? Apollo Nida was released from federal prison for the second time in nearly three months after he was promptly sent back upon his initial release.
Nida, who was once married to “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Phaedra Parks, was released from the Fort Dix Correctional Facility and now resides in a halfway house in the Philadelphia area.
Back in June, Nida was released from the New Jersey corrections facility, months ahead of his original release date of October 15, 2019. His fiancée Sherien Almufti was seen frequenting the Philly-area halfway house he resided in that the time.
But nine days after he became a free man, Nida was sent back to prison. Allegedly, Nida broke a technical requirement pertaining to the terms of his release.
“I was disappointed, but at the same time, I don’t know if I was that shocked because he is a risk-taker and I just hate it because now it’s just above all of us, only Jesus can fix it,” Parks told the Daily Mail last month. “I can’t make him be what he doesn’t want to be. He has to want to change.”
Parks also noted that her sons were eager to see their dad, who was set to be out from behind bars and in the halfway house before Father’s Day.
“There’s a box of Father’s Day cards, mugs, little plates and things that they’ve made that I was going to send him,” she said. “And so my youngest son was like, ‘so daddy will be here for Father’s Day?’ And I had explained to him, no. He couldn’t come anyway because he was in the halfway house transition home. But you know, they can’t talk to him at all now because he’s back in prison.”
In 2014, Nida was sentenced to spend 96 months in federal prison after he pleaded guilty to charges of conspiring to commit mail, wire and bank fraud.
But now the one-time Bravolebrity is free from the restraints of prison. And while he still has to abide by the rules of the halfway house, fans hope he won’t see the inside of a prison cell again and keep his hands clean.
“Ok let’s try this again! 😂😂😂”
“The day is still young 😬😂”
“🤣🤣🤣 He will be locked up again by the weekend. I hope not but…”
