After wiping her Instagram page clean of ex-boyfriend Tone Kappone, Phaedra Parks was recently spotted cozying up to a new guy she met on an elite dating app.
And they’ve already got a huge thing in common.
Parks’ new boyfriend, “The Haves and Have Nots” actor Medina Islam, formerly dated one-time “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Claudia Jordan.
Photogs caught Parks and Islam showing some affection on an outing at The Misfit Restaurant in Santa Monica, California, recently after Parks told the Daily Mail they met on the app Raya.
“I dated a guy and that didn’t quite work out and so I found another guy that’s more suitable for me and I’m quite excited and happy about him, ” Parks said of her new man, declining to name him specifically. “He’s very smart, very intelligent. He’s kind, we are both socially active. He’s really sober and smart. He’s a great father. So I’m excited about it.”
But while Parks didn’t ID him, the publication did, and fans promptly realized he used to date Jordan, Parks’ former “RHOA” co-star.

“Claudia’s ex for sure… But do you.”

Jordan and Islam dated in 2016, and even when they were a new item, the radio host teased they were destined for marriage. However, it wasn’t meant to be, and they only appear to have dated through 2018.
But now, Islam seems to be all into Parks, who shares two young sons with ex-husband Apollo Nida. Raising Ayden and Dylan on her own has not been easy, however — especially when Nida was released from prison last month, only to go right back behind bars nine days later for violating rules of the halfway house he resided in.
“There’s a box of Father’s Day cards, mugs, little plates and things that they’ve made that I was going to send him,” Parks told the U.K. publication of her sons’ plans to ship trinkets to Nida’s Philadelphia halfway house. “And so my youngest son was like, ‘so daddy will be here for Father’s Day?’ And I had explained to him, no. He couldn’t come anyway because he was in the halfway house transition home. But you know, they can’t talk to him at all now because he’s back in prison.”
The star, who was with her boys at Nickelodeon’s Slime City when she learned about Nida’s rearrest, was not surprised by the news.
“Apollo had been telling me that he was coming home early. I’m of the mindset, ‘I’ll believe it when I see it,” Parks said. The star also explained the family got excited when they learned Nida was on his way home, “but of course, you know, nine days later he was rearrested.”
“I was disappointed, but at the same time, I don’t know if I was that shocked because he is a risk taker and I just hate it because now it’s just above all of us, only Jesus can fix it,” continued Parks, who has not heard from Nida since he went back to the slammer. “I can’t make him be what he doesn’t want to be. He has to want to change.”
Nida is now expected to be released on his originally scheduled release date of October 19, 2019.
Parks, meanwhile, hopes he can get his act together for the sake of their boys.
