With durags being such a common go-to for men, some might find it strange that a celebrity hasn’t capitalized on that market a long time ago.
But Bow Wow has seemingly beaten everyone to the punch, and his line of “velvet” durags is a top seller. That’s something the 32-year-old revealed in an Instagram post, and he said he’d be adding more products to his company.
“Back to the grind. Time to kick some ass! I have the number 1 du rag line out,” he wrote Tuesday next to an Instagram photo of himself in a conference room. “Getting ready to launch my own wave control brush and pomade with @redbykissformen.”
But according to the rapper and actor, he’s not only making a name for himself in men’s hair care, he’s still doing big things in the entertainment space — both in front of the camera and behind. Plus, he’ll be a restaurateur in the future.
“Just produced my first film for @tvonetv Producing Growing Up Hip Hop Atl for @wetv Getting ready to film another movie in August. Getting shai in acting classes. My 1st restaurant in Atlanta,” he wrote in that same message.
“I’m excited but i’m telling you now. This is hard work,” added Bow. “Doing all this off of pure dedication no college degree no teachings no nothing. All heart and will power.”
“Congrats Shadmoss so proud of you,” someone wrote under his post.
“That’s right make that money work for you 💯💯💯,” another person chimed in.
But some said they weren’t sure if Bow was telling the truth about his business moves, probably because of his history. Some may recall that Bow was caught lying about how he traveled to New York in 2017 for a press run.
“Travel Day,” he wrote next to a photo of two luxury cars and a private jet. But someone later found him on a commercial flight and took his photo. The whole thing resulted in people mocking the former child rapper in something called the “#BowWowChallenge.”
“Looks photoshopped and staged,” someone wrote about his conference room photo. “Is he in a basement or in front of a green screen lol?🙄”
