About eight months after Paul Pierce announced his line of CBD vape pens, the retired NBA star announced that he’s launching an entire line of CBD products called “The Truth CBD Remedies,” after his nickname The Truth.
Pierce said he launched the products specifically for athletes so they can reach their full potential. In the past, the Los Angeles native said he’s used CBD to help with depression, anxiety and post-traumatic tension related to being stabbed numerous times in a Boston nightclub 19 years ago.
“I created The Truth CBD Remedies to offer athletes a product they’d not only enjoy but fully trust — a reliable product I use myself,” said Pierce. “I’m passionate about making sure athletes have support before, during and after the main event. There is a lot of noise in the CBD market.”
The line will be sold exclusively on the online CBD store Eaze Wellness in its new sports category.
“The Truth CBD Remedies” partnered with Eaze Wellness because of the shared commitment to getting high-quality products into the hands of people that care deeply about their well-being,” explained the former Boston Celtics All-Star.
Cannabidiol, CBD’s full name, is a chemical compound found in the cannabis plant, which, unlike THC, doesn’t get the user high. Many advocates say it helps decrease pain and can be used to fight anxiety, as well as depression.
Currently, the Eaze Wellness site has five products under “The Truth CBD Remedies,” including adapters and CBD pods that range from $48 to $89.
“It’s something that has benefited me personally,” said Pierce in an interview with Yahoo Finance. “And I just wanted to expand on the access, the high quality CBD products that customers can trust.”
The Food and Drug Administration has been extremely limited in its sanctioning of CBD, and it is not entirely clear where Pierce’s new line would fall on the spectrum of federally approved cannabidiol products.
