‘Very Iconic’: Trap Music Museum Gears Up to Pay Tribute to Nipsey Hussle with New Exhibit

The Trap Music Museum has become a staple in Atlanta. With artwork, photos, and various room themes dedicated to the greats in hip-hop, the Trap Museum will now pay tribute to one of hip-hop’s fallen sons Nipsey Hussle. General Manager Krystal Garner spoke with Atlanta Black Star on May 25 about the new exhibit.

“Our goal is to highlight some of the key things that he has taught us through his work and provide a place where people can come, honor him, and have a great time,” Garner said.

Hussle, born Ermias Joseph Asghedom , was fatally shot on March 31 outside of his Marathon Clothing Store in Los Angeles. Fans in Atlanta are excited about the new exhibit.

“Very iconic, that is the best way I can put it,”said Arnice Cotton a fan who is looking forward to the exhibit. “I think for anyone who hasn’t been on this earth that long, for him to have that much of a huge impact on the world,  I think that speaks a lot on his hard work, his ethics, his authenticity, his realness as an artist, and just his realness as a person in general.”

Will Himesmon is also thrilled about the exhibit and hopes people will keep the victory lap going and do more for our communities. “Love each other more and stay blessed up, the marathon continues,” Himesmon concluded.

“Nipsey Hussle’s legacy is beyond important to the Black community,” Garner added. “ It shows us that we can grow up in certain environments, and we can still be a product of that environment and not a negative product of that environment.”

The new exhibit is schedule to kickoff at the end of June.
