A couple of days after it was reported that Wendy Williams‘ son Kevin Hunter Jr. was arrested for punching his father Kevin Hunter, the older Kevin is now blaming Williams for ruining his relationship with the teen.
This is all according to a TMZ insider who said Hunter Sr. believes that his ex has been turning his son against him by sullying his name. Williams filed for divorce from Hunter in April after he was accused of fathering a child with his alleged 10-year mistress Sharina Hudson.
The source also claims that Hunter has been trying to spend time with his 18-year-old offspring, but he’s been getting turned down. He’s been sending him long text messages as well but has only received one-word responses.
The father and son were said to be extremely close before the split, which is something Williams acknowledged on “The Wendy Williams Show” in 2014 when Hunter Jr. was 13.
“What I discovered this weekend is that my son doesn’t like me anymore,” said Williams as she battled tears. “I discovered this awhile ago, but the ball just got smacked home this weekend. He’s all into his father. You know how 13-year-olds are. I was the same way when I was 13, but it is breaking my heart.”
Hunter Sr. reportedly now believes the relationship with his son is beyond repair, which is causing him great concern.
As reported, Hunter Jr. allegedly struck his father in the nose after he told the teen to create his own success and not depend on his mother. It’s also been said the argument had to do with the college student not liking his father asking his mom for spousal support.
Hunter Jr. and Williams were spotted in New York City holding hands on Thursday after he was released from a New Jersey jail the day before.
The New York Post reports that Hunter Jr. is now living with his mother in her Manhattan apartment and has been by her side since she filed for divorce.
