‘Go Off Sis’: Viral Singing Waitress Erica Kayne Shares Excitement for New Single After Star Blew Up by Covering Jazmine Sullivan

Erika Kayne went viral late last month for effortlessly singing another artist’s song as she rang up customers. But now, she’s gearing up to put out some original music featuring hitmaker Jazze Pha as well as previous collaborator Snoop Dogg.

Kayne revealed plans to drop her single “TKO” on Instagram Monday, which was completed after a recording session with the Atlanta-based record producer a week earlier. It also follows her performance with Snoop in Plano, Texas, last month.

“Sooooo this is one of the moments I’ve been waiting for all my life and that’s to give the world some real music 🎶 and omggggg I can’t wait to drop my NEW SINGLE : #TKO !! The song, which is produced by Dre Butterz, is a midtempo track that highlights Kayne’s signature vocals.

Fans eagerly shared their support for the single, a release date of which had not been shared as of yet but has been previewed further on Kayne’s Instagram Story Wednesday.

“She sounds like she bringing back that 90s R&B!! ❤️🙌🏾”

“This gonna be a hit @only1erikakayne just stay humble and don’t stop making music run with this shit opportunity comes once …✊🏿✊🏿 another sister doing her thing congrats 🇯🇲💯”

Kayne has been making music at least since 2009, but her star rose overnight when comedian Justin Whitehead recorded her singing Jazmine Sullivan’s “Need U Bad” at KeVante’s Restaurant & Lounge in Cleveland, Ohio in April. The clip caught the attention of Snoop, Missy Elliot, D.L. Hughley and others. Since then, Kayne performed an original song on “Strahan and Sara” in Times Square and belted out “Need U Bad” with Sullivan on “Steve.”

“I wanna sell out shows like Beyoncé, Keke [Palmer] Ashanti and Cardi B!” she said on “Strahan and Sara” of her ultimate career goal.
