Shaquille O’Neal has a new docuseries on the way that will follow the former NBA star’s extremely busy lifestyle. It’s called “Shaq Life,” which will air on TNT, and it’ll follow O’Neal as he attends DJ gigs in Las Vegas and goes on an international DJ tour.
The docuseries will also follow the Hall of Famer hosting the NBA awards, overseeing things at his restaurant Big Chicken, shooting commercials and getting some quality time in with his five children.
“Over the years, I’ve had many endeavors outside of sports but never this many all at once,” O’Neal said in a statement. “I’m ready to bring viewers along for the wild ride that is my life.”
Meanwhile, the “Inside the NBA” host teased New York Knicks fans for losing a chance at the No. 1 draft pick in the NBA Draft lottery on Tuesday, which probably means the team won’t get top player Zion Williamson. The New Orleans Pelicans received the top pick instead, while the Knicks got the third pick.
But the way O’Neal sees it, the Pelicans getting the No. 1 selection creates more good storylines in the NBA, since the team’s star Anthony Davis said he wanted to be traded because the Pelicans weren’t championship contenders.
“I’m so happy that the Knicks didn’t get the first pick,” O’Neal told TMZ on Wednesday. “I’m here the next day, Knick fans are so pissed and I’m loving it. Now it creates more stories. Does Anthony Davis stay? Do they lose him to trade to get better pieces to put around Zion? Will they trade the first pick?”
In regards to O’Neal’s new show, the Senior Vice President of TNT and TBS Michael Bloom said “Shaq Life” will be a unique opportunity for fans to see how driven he is.
“Shaq is the ultimate example of living your biggest, best life,” he stated. “‘Shaq Life’ will be the first time viewers will get a fly on the wall look inside his extreme ambitions and the non-stop fun he brings to everything he does.”
A release date for “Shaq Life” has yet to be announced.
