“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” has completed its 11th season and soon filming will begin on season 12. As such, lots of chatter has been filling the interwebs surrounding the potential cast. While Kandi Burruss is among those who are expected to return, she’s been adamant about not coming back if her foe Phaedra Parks joins the show again.
And fans are over the discussion.
When asked by “People Now” on April 29 if she’d be OK with Parks being on the cast again, Burruss’ feelings were clear.
“No,” she says swiftly at the 35-second mark. “If that’s what they want to do, that’s fine, you know, I’m cool. But I just won’t be a part of that.”
Burruss’ drama with Parks runs deep. During season 9, Parks claimed that Burruss and her husband wanted to drug and rape Porsha Williams in her supposed sex dungeon. Parks only admitted to it during the reunion when the cast questioned Williams about it.
“I repeated it because I heard it,” Parks explained simply, leading an angered Burruss to exclaim, “Do y’all know people would was under my comments saying #KandiAKABillCosby? Do you think that s— is f—— cool?”
The Xscape singer reflected on the allegations during the April sitdown.
“Especially in this whole ‘cancel culture’ we have right now, everybody wants to get canceled for everything,” Burruss explains of the potential fallout over Parks’ rumor. “So if somebody is, like, drugging people and doing this, ‘we’re canceling them, we want them arrested, we want action taken.’ But do we ever think about … if that person’s innocent and had a person lying on them, what happens to that [other] person?
“I don’t have a problem with [Phaedra] being a part of the thing,” the singer continues. “I’m just saying I don’t want us to have to deal with each other. So I would take my break and let her do it if that’s what it is. It’s no big deal.”
Regardless of the emotion of it all, fans believe Burruss ought to let bygones be bygones.
“Is that all she has to talk about. Stop dragging this storyline jeesh.”
“Ok this is getting out of hand ..nobody believed it stop making more than what it was ..she never point blank said it it was implied ..but if you continue to say it in this form you will believe it…”
“OMFG Legit nobody believed that rumor ever and it was NOT a real threat to any of her businesses! It was just shade that went to far! She needs to stop trying to forcing this victimhood.”
Others said they’d be perfectly fine with Burruss leaving the show.
“Im fine wit kandi leaving tbh.”
“Bye Kandi!!!!”
Amid all the talk of her potential return, Parks has largely ruled out returning to “RHOA.”
“That’s a done deal at the moment,” she told UsWeekly last year. “I never say never, but you know, I’ve moved on to greener pastures.”
