In a video that surfaced in April, “Love and Hip Hop: New York‘s” Brittney Taylor accused Remy Ma of punching her at a concert, and now the “Conceited” rapper has been arrested.
According to TMZ, Remy turned herself in to the NYPD on Wednesday and was slapped with a misdemeanor assault charge. She also saw the judge, who set her bail at $1,500 and Remy was ordered to stay away from Taylor. She was also given an 8:00 p.m. curfew.
But despite turning herself in, Remy’s attorney Dawn Florio says Taylor is being untruthful.
For one, Florio noted that Taylor claimed she was struck at 9:30 at night, but Remy was home then and there’s supposedly video footage to back that up. The attorney also suggested Taylor’s claims are all about money, because she obtained a lawyer for a civil suit right after the alleged assault.
Meanwhile, Taylor’s attorney Sanford Rubenstein said his client isn’t lying, and she has faith the courts will rule in her favor.
“[Taylor] has confidence in our system of justice and will continue to fully cooperate with the authorities,” he stated.
The alleged assault took place on April 16 when the two reality stars were backstage at Manhattan’s Irving Plaza during the Pretty Lou Benefit Concert.
Taylor said Remy accused her of knowing something about her stepdaughter Dejanae being attacked, and that’s when she threw the punch, which resulted in a black eye.
“So here am I on my way to a very important meeting and it’s hard to even focus because of what occurred last night,” said Taylor on video after the alleged incident. “I didn’t wanna bring it to social media because Its pretty embarrassing. #WHATHAPPENEDTOWOMANEMPOWERMENT and #BlackLove.”
Remy, who spent six years in prison for shooting her friend in a vehicle, is still on parole and has yet to speak about the alleged attack against Taylor.
She is reportedly now out on bail.
