SZA Says Someone At Sephora Accused Her of Stealing and Fans Are Taking Action: ‘A Firing Today’

All SZA wanted to do was get some Fenty Beauty products and be on her way, but according to the singer it didn’t go down like that.

On Monday the TDE artist took to Twitter and told her followers that a staff person at a Sephora in Calabasas, California, thought she was stealing and called security.

SZA said that a conversation eventually took place with all the parties involved, but she didn’t mention anything about an apology.

The “Love Galore” singer also called the staff person “Sandy,” which goes along with others who’ve been labeled with names when they’ve fussed over Black folks living their lives.

Like Alison Ettel, better known as “Permit Patty,” who threatened to call police on an 8-year-old black girl in San Francisco for selling water last year. Or Jennifer Schulte, aka “BBQ Becky,” who in 2018 phoned 911 because Black folks were having a cookout in an Oakland park.

“Lmao Sandy Sephora location 614 Calabasas called security to make sure I wasn’t stealing,” wrote SZA, who actually used to work for the makeup chain before fame. “We had a long talk. U have a blessed day Sandy. Can a b-tch cop her fenty in peace er whut.”

SZA’s fans were outraged after the tweet surfaced and some said they’d call the Sephora in Calabasas to complain.

There were also a bunch of people who plan to visit the store and speak with Sandy, while others said the chain is now officially “suspended.”

“A FIRING TODAY,” someone wrote about the staff person.

“A whole rich Sza, stealing??” wrote another.

“Sandy must live under a rock,” someone else chimed in.

Besides working for Sephora back in the day, SZA also modeled for a Fenty campaign in 2017.
